Announcing Furlandia’s 2013 artist guest of honor, Tojo the Thief!
Tojo is an artist and all around nerd who currently resides in the the pacific northwest where she is finishing up a degree in design. Originally from sunny California, she escaped and now enjoys living in the rainy slug filled environment of Washington state. She joined the fandom in 2006 and at that point began to convert people into dragons for the betterment of furry kind. Aside from the furry fandom her hobbies include fantasy art, reading, designing, harassing wildlife and gaming.
PDX Furs is organizing a new bowling event for Portland’s furs & cosplayers, and the first one is a Furlandia fundraiser!
PDX Furs invites you to Portland’s first Fursuit & Cosplay Bowling day! Wear your steampunk best or your piratical worst, your super-suit or your fursuit, and roll all afternoon against your fellow Portland geeks & cosplayers. If the first one is well-attended, we’ll make this a bi-monthly event opposite Seattle’s fursuit bowling meet.
We’re also holding a prize raffle in support of Portland’s new furry convention; if you’d like to donate an art commission, costume piece, or other raffle prize, drop us a line!
Place: Hollywood Bowl, 4030 NE Halsey Street in Portland’s Hollywood District (neighboring the Transit Center)
Time: 1-5pm on Saturday, March 16th; check in early, bowling starts at 2pm, raffle at 4pm.
All ages; $15/head for shoe rental and two games. PLEASE PRE-PURCHASE or talk to an event planner by Wednesday, March 13th so PDX Furs can estimate attendance for the venue.

Brian is also Pandemonium Jones, a semi-semi-professional DJ who, alongside The Illegible DJ Caps, caused a slight stir in the mid-aughts with eclectic dance parties and recorded mixes. Caps & Jones’ 2005 CD Moving In Stereo was included in Spin magazine’s Top 40 albums of the year despite selling less than 400 copies. In its wake the duo briefly toured the US and Europe and recorded mixes for Caroline Distribution, Calvin Klein and XM Satellite Radio among others. These days he does most of his DJing at home, with occasional exceptions for friends’ weddings and furry cons. His set Saturday night at Furlandia promises to be long, loud, and sweaty.
Furlandia is proud to announce Soki Twopaw as our first-year fursuit guest of honor!
Soki started off making costumes one year when he wanted to have something to wear for Halloween. His families favorite holiday. Dad always dressed as the Grim Reaper, mother was always bride of Frankenstein. He tried the old Charlie Brown getup with the sheet over his head but then Soki stumbled upon ‘Goldenwolfens’ tutorial on how to make masks. He wore it that Halloween then threw it away. The following year he wanted enter a costume contest at a rave called ‘Freaknight’. He was interested in the were wolf phenomenon of the 1600′s through school history classes at the time and had an interest in Jim Henson’s work. So he went on the internet to find instructions to create a more complete ‘were-wolf’ costume. From there he proceeded to create one and take it to the contest but did not wear it due to how warm it was inside the event. After the event, the costume was thrown away and another year rolled by until the following Halloween he wanted yet another costume. Remembering what he created the years prior, he went about to make another one and won a few local contests along amassing a little pocket change in the process. Looking to learn more about costume creation, he went online and found the furry community and fursuits. He got his first commission by happenstance, from there the rest is history.
