Atso Fox – 2013 Convention Chair
Atso has been a Portland native his entire life, growing up in all the best low rent neighborhoods littered throughout the PDX metro area. A fox that has been told he is “too young and ambitious for his own good,” his unhinged drive to move forward is what keeps him from turning into a slothful, unmovable person who would otherwise never leave the internet.
Chase B. – Game Room Coordinator
Chase is a graduate student at Portland State University studying urban planning, which he says is just like playing SimCity, except it’s nothing like that. He’s been into furry since 2001, but has only been involved in the Portland furry community for a year and a half. Chase is a founding member and the sitting treasurer of the Portland Collegiate Furs.
Saphy – Marketing & Publicity Manager
Richard Thomas, or Saphy has been an active leader since his return to the community in September of 2010. He is the head member of The PDXFurs Group, a non-profit association that organizes and plans events for the local community. When he is not wrangling cats, he focuses on his career in the field of litigation and finance.
Hazard – Creative Director; Forum Admin
This petite Fennec Chimera is a lover of all forms of beauty. In 2007, Hazard graduated from The Center for Advanced Learning with a concentration in Graphic Design and Information Technology. She went on to study Illustration and Communication Design at Pacific Northwest College of Art, where she graduated in 2012 with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art. Her work has been featured in galleries around Portland, Oregon, but it is her online presence, and her experience working as a staff member and contributor on various virtual avatar and pet site communities for over the past decade, that she is proud enough to wiggle and get giddy about. She is a Portland native, and enjoys traveling between her home city, Japan, and Canada. One of her great pleasures is to inspire emerging artists, and to show them that, regardless of whether they write, paint, draw, design, or perform, they can, at any age, publish their work and begin a career in art. Playful, childish, and idealistic as she may be, Hazard intends to make the world more pretty, even if she has to sink her teeth into it in order to gain aesthetic compliance. She sincerely hopes to make your stay at Furlandia a great one, so feel free to stop by Creation Station to scribble and chat with her!
Jaeli – Publications; Registration Desk Lead
Jaeli is a longtime Furry, but only realized she is one over the last couple of years. Better late than never, right? She’s a writer, costume designer, and lover of clean Furry art. She’s been going to general fandom conventions since the early 1990’s, and has been involved in staff/committee for Orycon since she moved here in 2006. While taking a break from Orycon, she’s jumping right in to helping Furlandia get off the ground.
In her spare time (wait, what’s “spare time?” I don’t know the meaning of that phrase ~J), she blogs occasionally, designs and sews costumes and other random articles of clothing, writes and edits fiction, does web design and creates the covers of some of her books. Oh yeah, she works and goes to school part time as well.
Her ‘sona is from one of her yet-unpublished books and looks a lot like a white Serval, but with some different markings. She’s a Magehunter, among other things.
Smurf – Dealer’s Den Coordinator
Bio coming soon!
Signet has been in the fandom since 2006 with Further Confusion being his first furry convention in 2007. He has been going to FC every year since and volunteered for staff by working Con-Ops for two years. Baking is his main hobby, but loves food in general, and enjoys showing off weird flavor combinations and techniques.
Sumanitu Taka – Community Ambassador
Born and raised in Salem, OR, Sumanitu has been involved with the Northwest furry community for more than 10 years. An avid con-goer, fursuiter, snowboarder, board gamer, equal parts outdoor enthuiast and nerd, and full time wolf. He is committed to making Furlandia, Oregon’s first hotel hosted furry con, the best con it can be.
