The University Place Hotel is in the southeast corner of the PSU campus, at 310 SW Lincoln Street, Portland, Oregon. Downtown Portland is highly walkable, and numerous bike paths & bicycle-friendly roads connect PSU and the waterfront to all parts of Portland; see the city’s interactive bike map to plan a route. UPH is also accessible by car, streetcar, bus, and MAX light rail.

Driving

From east of Portland on I-84/US-30 West, merge onto I-5 South (signs for OMSI/City Center). From north of Portland on I-5 South, merge onto  I-405 North on the Marquam Bridge (signs for City Center/Beaverton); from south of Portland on I-5 North, take Exit 299B (this is a left-side exit)  to I-405 North.

Once on I-405 North, take Exit 1B for SW 4th Avenue. Yes, that’s the hotel immediately on your right, but no turns are allowed at this intersection; drive ahead on 4th and make three rights–Harrison, SW 1st, and Lincoln–to arrive at the hotel and turn left into their lot.

From west of Portland on US-26 East, follow signs for Market St./City Center and merge directly from your freeway lane onto Market Street in downtown Portland. Turn right on SW 5th Avenue and left on Lincoln Street. The hotel will be on your right.

Parking

Because the University Place Hotel is a Portland State University property, PSU parking rates & enforcement apply. Parking in the UPH lot is $3/hour, $5 flat fee for evenings after 5pm, and $12 for an all day/overnight pass. Given these rates, you may prefer to arrive via . . .

Use TriMet.org to plan your trip by bus, MAX, or Portland Streetcar.

Bus lines serving Portland City Center, PSU, the South Waterfront, and the Downtown Transit Mall will drop you four or fewer blocks from University Place Hotel.  Stop IDs 3399, 3400, 2566, 2567, 12763, & 10491 are closest to the hotel, but there are many other options.

The end of the line for Metropolitan Area Transit (MAX) Green and Yellow Line trains is two blocks from UPH at SW 5th & Jackson, stop ID 7606. Transfer from Red or Blue Line trains at Pioneer Place, stop ID 7646.

Arrive by Portland Streetcar (NS Line) at the SW 3rd & Harrison stop, ID 12382 Westbound or ID 12375 Eastbound.
