Registration Troubleshooting

Need help using our registration page? We've collected a few solutions for some common issues below.

If you don't see a solution that applies to your situation, please feel free to contact us at registration@furlandia.org and we'll be happy to assist you.

I didn't get an email to reset my password or create an account.

Check to see if the email has ended up in your Spam/Junk folder. It may help to add registration@furlandia.org to your contacts to help your email provider handle registration emails from Furlandia correctly.

If you requested a password reset or new account and have not received an email to reset your password or create an account in over a day, you can try using the new user / password reset page to have the registration page send you another email.

If you are still unable to receive the email, contact us at registration@furlandia.org to have your password reset or to request an account. We recommend mailing us from the email address associated with your account if you need your password reset, or from the email address you want to have associated with your account if you need a new account.

I thought I created an account, but the registration page still says "bad username or password" when I try to log in.

Unfortunately, the registration pages for setting up a new account and logging in look very much alike.

When you enter your email address in the new user / password reset page, you will get an email with a button in it. Click on the button to create your account. These emails are only valid for 10 minutes, so make sure you have the time to complete the process.

This should take you to a page that asks you to choose a username, and to enter a password twice. If you did not need to enter a password twice, you may have entered your username and password into the login page instead, so your account was not created.

If you believe you may not have created your account successfully, enter your email address in the new user / password reset page again. If your account was created, you should receive a password reset email instead of an email asking you to create your account — you can cancel the request from the email, or simply ignore it and let it expire.

The registration page is telling me that my IP address has been blocked for "suspicious activity". Why?

This message is part of a feature of our registration software that is designed to address a privacy concern. It limits the number of unsuccessful login attempts you can make in a given period of time.

If you receive this message, wait a few hours and try again.

This message may also appear if you are registering from a public network where other people are registering at the same time. If this is the case, wait a few hours and try again, or try using a different network to register.

I'd like to register someone else as well as myself. How can I do that?

Our registration software maintains one account for each person who attends Furlandia. This is because we issue proof of membership that is unique to each person. As a result, each person will need to register separately (with their own account) – you cannot purchase a membership for someone else from your own account.

To register someone else who is new to Furlandia, go to the new user page and enter that person's email address, then have that person click through the email and register as normal.

If you want to register someone else using the same email address as you, see below: We'd like to share an email address to register for Furlandia. How does that work?

I made a mistake in my registration.

You can update your first name, email address, shipping address, or telephone number by logging in to the registration page with your username and password and going through the registration process again. Any information that you don't change will stay the same.

If you'd like to change your membership level or add or remove items that you'd like to purchase with your preregistration, you can make these changes at the membership stage of the registration process. Any payments you have already made will still apply to your overall total; you will only need to make additional payments if your final invoice is for more than you have already paid. If you remove paid items from your invoice, contact us at registration@furlandia.org to receive a refund.

Due to limitations of our registration software, you cannot change your legal last name or username from the registration page. Contact us at registration@furlandia.org and we will be happy to assist you.

I haven't attended Furlandia in a while. Why is the registration page asking for my username and password now?

We've made some changes to our registration software to address some privacy concerns. As a result, going forward you should log in using a username and password.

If you have registered for Furlandia before this change, you can create a username and password for your existing account by resetting your password.

If you are new to Furlandia, the same form will send you an email to get you started. You'll create a username and password when you click through the email.

We'd like to share an email address to register for Furlandia. How does that work?

Our registration software will only create a new account for an email address if no accounts are associated with that email address. If any accounts are associated with an email address, a password reset email for the existing accounts will be sent to that email address instead.

We generally recommend that each individual have their own email address in order to register for Furlandia. If you do not wish to set up an email account for the person you are registering, please contact us at registration@furlandia.org for instructions on how to create the account.
