Conbook Submissions
Every year we produce our own custom-themed conbook containing all you need to know about the convention, our hotel, and our program of events. Given out to each and every attendee, our conbooks are works of art that keep you informed during your time in Furlandia and serve as mementos long after the con has ended.
It's no surprise, then, that we like to use our conbook to showcase some of the very best in original artwork, stories, and poems created by and for attendees of Furlandia! This is why we look forward each year to submissions from people like you to help make Furlandia's conbook so special.
That's also why we're excited to invite you to submit your own creations for consideration to be included in the 1967: The Summer of Fluff! conbook. To give everyone a fair chance and to ensure your creations look good in print, we've come up with some basic requirements listed below that your submissions will need to meet. Please make sure you understand these requirements before you send your submissions as we may not be able to include artwork or written material which does not meet the requirements below.
Please also note that while we will try to publish as many submissions as possible in this year's conbook, final selection for inclusion in the conbook will be at the discretion of the publishing team and Furlandia's executive team. Submissions of a high enough quality that fail to make it into the conbook may, at Furlandia's discretion, be shared on our website and on social media sites attached to Furlandia.
Artwork Size Limit:
- Full page: At LEAST 2400 pixels horizontally or AT LEAST 3300 pixels vertically.
- Half page art: 2400 x 1650 OR 1200 x 3300
- Quarter page: 1200 x 1650
Image File Requirements:
- Minimum DPI/PPI: 300
- Minimum size on any side: 2550 px.
- Maximum size on any side: 3300 px.
- Formats (in order of preference): .PSD, .TIFF, .PNG, .JPEG/.JPG
- Vector Formats (in order of preference): .ai, .eps, .svg
- Colors: Grayscale.
Story Word Limit:
- Long story limit: 3,000 words
- Medium story limit: 2,000 words
- Short story limit: 1,000 words
Poem Word Limit:
8 inches horizontally, 10 inches vertically on page (for poems that are specially formatted with indents, centered, etc)
Text File Requirements:
- Formats: .docx, .doc, .rtf
- Word Count: approx. 3000 words
