Statement from the Chair

FURst off, I would like to say that all of you were amazing at Furlandia 2026. All of the Staff of Furlandia really worked hard to make the best convention possible. We would also like to thank the Hyatt Regency for giving us a wonderful place to grow and take Furlandia to heights that the founders of this convention never thought about. 

Second off, the good news, after months of negotiations and uncertainty, is that we have a hotel.  It is not the Convention Center OR the Hyatt, as I said at closing ceremonies. After a long negation and waiting period from the Hyatt, which ended in us not being able to get our weekend until 2031... BUT, we have a hotel. 

It is the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront. They were able to give us all the space we needed for Furlandia.  There was just one change we needed to make for the 2027 year: we had to change our date for the convention to May 6 – 9, 2027. We are aware of what that decision puts us against.  There was no other choice for 2027.  It was either this or cancel the con for this year. 

We will change back to our normal weekend for 2028. 

Furlandia apologizes for any inconvenience that our new location and date has made for people. We hope that with all the new momentum we made for 2026, we can carry it over to 2027! Please understand, we are just as irritated about this situation as many of you will be upon hearing this but know we are still going to work very hard to put on the best Furlandia ever!
