Artists Alley

Artists Alley will be returning to Furlandia 2018! Our Artists Alley is a place for vendors to showcase their work without having to commit the entire weekend to sitting at a table in the Dealers Den. It's also an excellent venue for artists and craftsmen who are just getting started in the furry world, as well as more seasoned vendors who did not win a slot in the Dealers Den this year.

The Artists Alley resides in the Mt. Hood Foyer outside the main theater, one of the busiest areas of our convention.

Hours

  • Friday: 11:00am – 5:00pm
  • Saturday: 10:00am – 5:30pm
  • Sunday: 10:00am – 5:00pm

Signing up for Artists Alley

This year, signups for Artists Alley will be processed through the convention registration system. Please read this section thoroughly so that you understand the new process!

Tables for Artists Alley will be allocated by daily lottery. Vendors who wish to sell on multiple days must complete the application process during each day's sign-up period. There will also be a number of waitlisted spots allocated for each day.

A special Artists Alley registration kiosk will be made available in front of Operations (Garden A, across from registration). The registration process will be very familiar to all, as it mirrors the general convention registration in many respects.

Vendors registering for Artists Alley will be required to indicate their acceptance of the policies for Artists Alley (which are outlined on this page). Vendors may also optionally choose to give permission for Artists Alley staff to contact them by email or text, to notify them if they are drawn for a table or a waitlist spot.

(Notifications will be sent to an email address on file only if the address has been marked "NO SPAM - Okay to email otherwise." Notifications will be sent by text message only if there is at least one phone number marked as "Cell" and the applicant has given permission for Artists Alley staff to send text notifications.)

Notifications will also be sent to vendors who have granted permission during the signup process.

Successful applicants will need to check-in and pay the $15 table fee in order to confirm their slot. Each table is equivalent to a half-table in Dealers Den (approximately 3 ft square).

Check-In

Check-in will begin two hours prior to each day's opening time. Tables will be assigned to successful applicants in the order in which they pay. Any unassigned tables will be made available to waitlisted applicants at one hour prior to each day's opening time.

Vendors must have a valid current-year badge and pay the table fee of $15 in order to be assigned a table. Artists Alley will not have a card payment terminal; payments must be made in cash only. Artists Alley staff will honor requests for vendors to be seated next to each other, but only if both vendors request this together at the time of payment.

Please do not sit at or set up at any table before being assigned one by Artists Alley staff.

Selling

Furlandia does not take responsibility for your belongings. Please do not leave your merchandise or personal items unattended.

If you need to leave temporarily, please notify Artists Alley staff and let them know when you'll be back. You may have somebody else with a valid badge watch your table while you are away, if you have notified Artists Alley staff before you leave.

Tables left unattended for more than one hour without notification to Artists Alley staff will be forfeited. Waitlisted applicants may be given the opportunity to claim a forfeited table. No refunds will be made available for forfeited table fees. The contents of forfeited tables may be reclaimed from Artists Alley staff or from Lost and Found.

Content Rules

You must abide by the Dealers' Den rules for content:

  • Everything you display or sell must be your own work.
  • Everything you display directly must be PG-13 rated.

You may show adult material to individual attendees after checking their badges to ensure that they are of legal age.

An item is not PG-13 if it:

    • Contains exposed genitalia or representations thereof
    • Depicts a sexual act
    • Depicts realistic violence where the victim is shown to be seriously injured
    • Depicts any other content that is unsuitable for younger viewers as determined by federal or state law

Items whose possession, sale, or transportation across state borders constitutes a criminal act are strictly prohibited. Possession, display, or sale of any such item will result in immediate removal from the Artists Alley and a disciplinary meeting with the Chair.

Final authority on acceptable content in Artists Alley rests with Artists Alley staff. Decisions may be appealed to the Artists Alley lead.
