News
May 21st, 2014 - Programming Schedule up
Here is our programming schedule. There is a missing panel or two, and a typographical error, so this is not the final version. Event Schedule
May 15th, 2014 - Hotel rooms still available, and misc updates
We still have some hotel availability! It's really worth grabbing a room if you haven't. We have a forum for roomshare posts too. You can book a room from the hotel page. While you should get the room ahead of time to ensure availability, you should be able to get it in person for the discount price as well at-con. We've updated a few things on the site, including uploading a map of the hotel and event space, and a map of the dealers den.
May 15th, 2014 - Final Staff Meeting. Volunteers still accepted and wanted!
We still have need of more staff and volunteers. Check the volunteer page for contact info. Volunteers will be accepted at the convention as well, just go to Con Ops and let us know your interest! We'll be having our final staff meeting this Saturday, May 17th. Details available on the contact page. Space is extremely limited, so no spectators please.
May 15th, 2014 - Pre-registration is closed and the deadline for receiving payments has arrived
Exactly that the title says. Pre-registration closed at the end of May 10th, and the deadline for receiving payments will pass in just over an hour. Of course if we receive a payment in the next day or two, you'll probably be fine! You can look forward to registering at the convention if you missed out. Day passes should also be available.
March 8th, 2014 - Pre-registration open longer, costing less.
Two great things! Yesterday we extended our pre-reg time from May 1st, to May 10th, giving you the extra time to get a better price. Not only that, but we've decided to make things even more affordable at Furlandia by cutting out our middle tier pre-reg price of $35. That means pre-reg will stay $30 until May 10th, when it closes and the price rises to $40 at con only. Don't you just love saving money?
March 7th, 2014 - Dealer Applications are OPEN
We said they would be open today, and they are! Please see our Dealers page for information and to apply.
March 6th, 2014 - General Registration is OPEN
Registration is open! (Room Reservation has been open too)
Unfortunately no dealer registration yet, as that requires just a few minor things still, but we anticipate a solution within days. For those non-dealers, head over to our Registration page and sign up! Because of how long the registration took to open, we are offering a very limited special discount for pre-registration as a way of saying thank you for sticking with us. Until March 15th you can pre-register for $30. That is a week and a half! You must have your registration paid for in the system by then to receive this pricing.
For the few people who pre-registered at the end of Furlandia 2013, an email with instructions should be going out to you soon on how to sign up in our system to claim your membership
March 6th, 2014 - Looking for Staff
We are looking for volunteers for staff for just about everything. We've also posted a list of staff roles that may require a particular skill set, that we are specifically looking for. This is in no way the only staff roles we need to fill. Head on over to the Volunteers page if you're interested!
March 6th, 2014 - Attention Furlandia 2013 Staff!
Emails went out to everyone on our list who worked the convention in 2013 and earned a free membership. If you feel you should have received an email and didn't, please contact triss@furlandia.org to raise the concern
March 6th, 2014 - Website is Live!
What a journey it has been to launch this website. Here we are! No, really! Yes, we know what date it is. Unfortunately in the world of a newer convention, you encounter growing pains. This is precisely what happened to us. Well that and not having a dedicated web developer on staff. A big thank you to Dragonman Mike (a developer for Vancoufur and Rainfurrest) for taking time out of his schedule to help with basic asset design and overall site coding. A big thank you to Jaden, Furlandia's resident IT Cheetah, as well for going above and beyond in helping me implement this thing.
This site will still be changing and growing, and new information will be added where needed as we settle in to things and can move on from this big project. Expect more detail in Events and the Dealers page especially.
